The Connected Learning team, in partnership with the University City School District, will be the organizing partner in creating a one day Social Justice event. The event will be a conference/EDcamp hybrid with traditional conference-style learning in the morning and EDcamp style discussions and reflections in the afternoon. The focus of the day will be to bring together educational stakeholders such as teachers, administrators, and service providers to discuss topics related to Social Justice, Bias, and Equity.
The key outcomes of the event will be to:
- Define the most pressing issues regarding equity in education;
- Heighten the awareness of these issues;
- Allow space for discussion and collaboration in the areas of Equity and Social - Justice in education and;
- Facilitate progress around these issues by bringing community members together and discussing potential solutions to encourage equity in education.
Our goal will be to deliver a premier event for our region supporting the professional learning for up to 50 educators with opportunities for follow up discussions and continued collaborations in the weeks and months following this event.
