This is immersive AI showcase facilitated by schoolai will bring together educators, leaders and technology specialists to explore both the opportunities and challenges AI brings to classrooms and districts, with practical strategies you can take back to your own setting.  Education leaders will experience real classroom applications, connect with peers tackling similar challenges and gain concrete strategies for meaningful AI implementation in K-12 settings. St. Louis County Library will host the St. Louis Teen Book Festival on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clark Family Branch. This year’s line-up includes Angeline Boulley, E. Lockhart, and Maggie Stiefvater and more. All authors will sign books after.

The festival is free and open to all readers.

Enter through the Post Event Center on the East side of the building. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Writing Instruction in the Age of AI

The impact of AI on education is an evolving discussion. Join in!

Gateway Writing Project will host a one-day workshop on writing instruction in the age of AI. The session will explore how AI has shifted the foundation of our work with students considering the writing process and the products we ask students to create. We will explore digital literacy, curriculum integration of AI, and strategies for engaging students in authentic writing.

We will collectively share our experiences in order to learn about the successes, challenges, possibilities, and limitations of AI in our work while upholding our values about the beauty and power of writing.

Call for Speakers

The 2026 Midwest Great Lakes Region conference committee is now accepting submissions for speaking engagements for the in person conference June 1-3, 2025 in St. Louis, MO.

Conference Theme: The Gateway: Schools for Tomorrow’s Learning

All speakers must be available to speak on all or any of the session days as sessions will be assigned time slots.

All speakers MUST register for the conference. A discount of$75will be offered to selected speakers for FULL conference registrations (does not apply to daily rates).No compensation will be provided for speaking, expenses, travel, or lodging.

Primary preference will be given to submissions:

• Related to the conference theme.

• Offer a fresh perspective.

• Are relevant and of interest.

• Have measurable and achievable learning objectives and call to action.

• Proposals that include students, teachers, or administrators.
